Getting Board Game plays up

My boardgaming partner in crime (and obsession), Mr G, made a good point a while back that the focus we have both been putting on getting all of our games played, has had a negative impact on our play balance – we rush to get a game played once, and then drop it before we can really explore the game more. I am not sure I agree with this fully, but I have decided to try and push up a few of my lower play counts, following in Mr G\’s footsteps, and get my plays up to at least 5 for the games that I record plays for individually. This is partly to see if I can maybe cull my collection a little further but it is also to give myself a new challenge in light of my much lower rate of game acquisitions recently.

So there it is, my hall of shame – 32 games (I am not including most expansions here) that have been played fewer than 5 times. The first column is plays to date, the second column is the number of plays remaining to get up to 5. It\’s a total of 93 plays to clear the list as it currently stands.
I have a total of 78 games that qualify as \’games\’ by my definition so 32 is almost 1/2 of my collection! This really is pretty obscene and although some are new and others suffer from predating/omission from my game logging (Zombies!!! and Creationary for example) there is no real excuse for so few plays of so many of my games.
I am not setting a timeline on this one, it is going to live in the background as an on going effort.
